November 26, 2020 That’s our dog, the chow hound, perennially waiting for something to accidentally on purpose drop off the dinner table. We can’t really feed her people food anymore, due to her old lady digestive disturbances, but she can lick the plates after we scrape them (flavor without the food, is that a thing?). Sydney was excited to get going today, and my Mom was happy to see her, but she mentioned that she just had her carpets cleaned about 10 times, yes mom, we got the message!
Are we there yet? What, we haven’t even left yet? I can smell pie…. and shrimp cocktail!Stripes are in, but we teased Mom that her feet looked like they should be sticking out from under a house. When my brother and I were kids, watching that movie was a Thanksgiving tradition, just like the Macy’s Parade (which was not the same streaming on my phone!). Mom insisted on cooking the whole meal, even though we literally begged her to let us take her out instead! Great meal, great company, love you Mom! Bob got his creamed onions and turkey legs, but we are going to have to recommend against organic free-range turkeys in the future… we can only surmise that running around all day trying to get to the worm first makes for enormous legs that look deliciously plump, but turn out to be seriously muscular, and quite a workout to chew… bring on the Butterball, please. We called family we couldn’t be with, which is nice but not quite the same. Here are my brother Bill, his wife Jane and their family distance dinner-ing in their backyard in San Diego. Overall, a very good day.
We found the most amazing house in Lee, NH and purchased it in the summer of Covid, 2020. This is the story of how we fell down the rabbit hole… our story begins in May 2020, and while I’ve been documenting all along, blog entries are somewhat behind (but will catch up)! For the story from the beginning, go History of the Black Sheep Project, “select a month” and start from the bottom to read in chronological order. Gallery photos within each post should enlarge with one click; use the back arrow to return to the blog post (or some photos may open in a new window). There is also a search bar for the entire website. Have fun, and down the rabbit hole we go.
