October 8, 2020 Painting continues, and continues to look better and better! The weather is perfect – sunny, cool at nights, warm in the day, and the colors are lovely. Time to get in the spirit of autumn with local farm stand pumpkins on the rock wall, and a dollar store witch’s hat for the Black Sheep. I rode my new bike to Durham to get it adjusted at the bike shop, and it is such a pleasure to be back in New England, doing things outdoors in the crisp fall air. Bob and I both feel much more relaxed here… BUT, he has to head back to Maryland for 10 days, for work. On the way to the airport, we lamented his leaving when things were really starting to rock and roll with the house, and knowing that time was not our friend with the weather. I told him that it’s not unheard of in NH to trick or treat in the snow. He laughed.
The weather is holding and painting continues…..
The side of the garage looks awesome, and it is only the first coat! The opening for the “Shed” garage door has been made (replacing rotted double doors), and we are waiting on the garage door to come in… everything is super backed up because of covid manufacturing delays. The back of the shed and middle garage are getting painted too, and look great. From the top left, you can see why the lift was so necessary to paint this crazy house! The top middle and right photos are from the main bedroom and bathroom windows. Donna is painting the cupola tower, which contains the furnace exhaust pipe, and an old stove pipe. Yes, it has a working crank window in it – why you ask? We don’t know, but it looks cool. The bottom left is from the guest bedroom window (4th floor) and the bottom right is from the deck outside the Observation room (6th floor)
We found the most amazing house in Lee, NH and purchased it in the summer of Covid, 2020. This is the story of how we fell down the rabbit hole… our story begins in May 2020, and while I’ve been documenting all along, blog entries are somewhat behind (but will catch up)! For the story from the beginning, go History of the Black Sheep Project, “select a month” and start from the bottom to read in chronological order. Gallery photos within each post should enlarge with one click; use the back arrow to return to the blog post (or some photos may open in a new window). There is also a search bar for the entire website. Have fun, and down the rabbit hole we go.
