Doing Some Good

September 19, 2020 Today was a day to surmount our frustrations and be grateful for the many good things in our life. We are healthy, our family and friends are healthy and safe and we are so fortunate, especially in these Covid times. Today is the day of the Fisher House Gala, an annual charitable event to benefit the Fisher House https://fisherhouse.org; a foundation that builds comfort houses where military and veterans families can stay free of charge while their loved one is in the hospital. This is one of our favorite charities. Bob (COL US Army, Retired) is VP of the Aberdeen Proving Ground chapter of AUSA (Association of the United States Army) which sponsors this annual themed Gala, typically raising over $100,000 annually from corporate sponsorship, silent auctions and basket auctions. While normally a festive evening social affair, this year’s event was virtual, and we participated both in organizing and supporting the Gala for the benefit of Fisher House. We celebrated the event and our own gratitude by driving along the seacoast of NH, appreciating the natural beauty of the rocky coast, sand flats and simply lovely sunset sky. On the way home we passed by this patriotic barn in North Hampton, NH. Fitting.
