September 4, 2020 We were going back to Maryland for a week. It was my birthday, we needed a break, we wanted to consolidate cars and also bring back our first Porsche to NH. Bob left on a Friday with the dog, direct to Maryland, and I left early the next morning to go by way of Chatham, NY. I hadn’t seen my mom for a VERY long time because of Covid, so I got tested and masked up to be socially distant. We ate a lovely brunch on the deck and I spent a few hours working on her “honey-do list” (Dad would be proud). It was a great visit and worth the extra driving. It was also good to catch up on things at our other home in Maryland, but it IS a little weird having two places to call home!
Photos of my mom on her deck from pre-Covid times (awesome view, huh?), brunch today was avocado toast with black sesame seeds and fresh garden tomato, yum. While in Maryland, our 2004 Porsche 996 40th Anniversary Edition was photographed for Bob’s article in PCA’s magazine Panorama. Fun driving through some covered bridges and experiencing a photo shoot. The interior of the covered bridge is just a little reminiscent of the open interior of our house, but maybe a little older!Bob and I are smiling! Out driving around, enjoying creature comforts like flush toilets, haha. The Trailex aluminum trailer (it’s that aluminum connection again) was pretty dirty, but power washing with Krud Kutter did the trick. We drove back a week later towing Shirley, our 1994 Porsche 964 C4 widebody. Shirley is named after her original owner from Ohio, who drove her almost 200K miles. Shirley lived on a dirt road, and is all-wheel drive, so she is perfect for our new house, on a dirt road in snowy NH!
We found the most amazing house in Lee, NH and purchased it in the summer of Covid, 2020. This is the story of how we fell down the rabbit hole… our story begins in May 2020, and while I’ve been documenting all along, blog entries are somewhat behind (but will catch up)! For the story from the beginning, go History of the Black Sheep Project, “select a month” and start from the bottom to read in chronological order. Gallery photos within each post should enlarge with one click; use the back arrow to return to the blog post (or some photos may open in a new window). There is also a search bar for the entire website. Have fun, and down the rabbit hole we go.
